GLOSSARY OF DATA QUALIFIERS USED IN ORGANICS REPORTS
U - Indicates that this compound was analyzed for but not
detected.
J - Indicates an estimated value for (1) a tentatively
identified compound (TIC) or (2) a compound meeting the
identification criteria detected at a concentration less
than the reported detection limit but greater than zero.
C - Indicates that this compound has been confirmed by gas
chromatography/mass spectrometry or by a second method.
B - Indicates that this compound was found in the associated
blank as well as the sample.
DL - Indicates a reanalysis at a secondary dilution.
D -- Indicates that this surrogate/matrix spike recovery was
diluted beyond calculable range due to matrix effects.
E - Indicates that this compound exceeds the highest calibration
standard for this method. If the result is beyond the
calibration range of the instrument, this sample will be
reanalyzed (see DL).
MS - Indicates "matrix spike." These recoveries provide
interference information that is sample specific.
MSD - Indicates "matrix spike duplicate."
S - Indicates that this is a spiking compound.
BS - Indicates "blank spike." These recoveriEs provide
information that is analysis specific, free of interferences
that may be attributed to the sample.
BSD - Indicates "blank spike duplicate."
NOTES:
Unless otherwise stated, results for soil/sludge/sed-ments
are reported on a dry weight basis.
t -
