(AGE) has enclosed copies of laboratory analytical results of soil and grab
ground water samples collected during a preliminary subsurface investigation of the concrete waste
tile stockpile area at the referenced site. Also enclosed is a map showing the locations of each boring
and a letter from Cal Tech Environmental Laboratories regarding the Quality Assurance/Quality
Control report for the analyzed samples.
On 27 September 2001, AGE advanced a total of eight soil borings at the site. Six of the soil borings
(B1 through B6) were advanced using a truck-mounted drill rig with hollow-stem augers; two
borings (P1 and P2) were advanced using a GeoProbe 5400 direct push unit. Boring B1 was
advanced to a depth of 25 feet below surface grade(bsg);borings B2, B3 and B6 were advanced to
depths of 26.5 feet bsg; borings B4 and B5 were advanced to depths of 30 feet bsg; and boring P2
was advanced to a depth of 27 feet bsg. Boring P 1 encountered refusal at a depth of three feet bsg
and was not sampled.
Soil samples were collected at five-foot intervals in each boring. After soil sample collection, a
temporary well casing was placed into each borehole. Grab ground water samples were collected
from each boring. Selected soil samples and grab ground water samples were transmitted to a
Department of Health Services(DHS)-certified laboratory for analysis. Analytical results of soil and
ground water samples are summarized in Tables 1 and 2.
Upon completion of sampling, the temporary well casings were removed and each boring was
backfilled with concrete to surface grade.
837 Shaw Road,Stockton, California 95215
Telephone (209)467-1006 FAX(209)467-1118
