The tanks(TK3 and TK4)were both of double-wall fiberglass construction and had been
utilized for waste oil and new oil, respectively. The tanks were properly rinsed and inerted prior to
loading and transport to Triangle,Incorporated of Sacramento for lawful destruction. As required
by San Joaquin County,a soil sample was obtained from the floor of each excavation immediately
after the tanks were removed. Samples also were collected from stockpiled overburden soil. The
sample locations are shown on the attached plan drawing by Kiff Analytical.
The soil samples collected from the site were tested by a State-certified chemical laboratory as
follows: (1) the waste oil sample (TK-3@9`) was analyzed for gasoline, diesel, BTEX, MTBE,
halogenated solvents,waste-oil metals, total recoverable oils,PCBs,and PNAs by a combination of
EPA methods M8015) 8020,8010, 6010,418.1, 8080,and 8270;(2)the new oil sample(TIC-4Q91)
was tested for total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel and gasoline and for BTEX by the M8015 and
8020 procedures; and,(3)the stockpile samples(#1 and##2)were analyzed the same as the waste oil
sample.
The chemical laboratory reports are attached and indicate that the waste oil sample(TK-3) was free
of all the various analytes with the exception of a trace of total-recoverable oil and typical
background metals, The two stockpile samples revealed similar results. The new oil sample(TK4)
revealed no identifiable petroleum, hydrocarbons within the carbon range of about C2 to C3O,
Following the described testing, discussions, and your authorization, the excavations were backfilled
with a combination of existing overburden material and imparted aggregate base rock. The surface
was finished with a reinforced concrete slab.
RJItriCOn H:lWPDATA1kp17uepnclnEllt$pORT5L4umR4port Page 1 of 2
Lk..9 d51n,,,lL N VN3aVSVd S3iflOOSSV AINMO1 WdU .0 0002 - L A8d
