0 <br /> • Damaged lead acid batteries are being stored in plastic bags that are not <br /> structurally secure and are not in closed containers capable of preventing the release <br /> of acid and lead. <br /> • None of the damaged batteries were labeled with the initial date of accumulation. <br /> Immediately, properly store all damaged batteries pursuant to HSC and Title 22 <br /> requirements and properly label those containers. <br /> CCR, Title 22, section 66265.16(a)(1) Facility personnel shall successfully complete a <br /> program of classroom instruction or on-the-job training that teaches them to perform <br /> their duties in a way that ensures the facility's compliance with the requirements of this <br /> chapter. <br /> • The store manager was unfamiliar with the regulations regarding proper disposal of <br /> hazardous waste including, but not limited to, proper disposal of used oil as evidenced <br /> by his statement that he would take the waste oil to his family's lube oil business for <br /> disposal. <br /> Immediately, train all appropriate store employees on proper management of <br /> hazardous waste generated at this facility including proper responses to any and <br /> all hazardous waste releases that may occur in and around the facility pursuant <br /> to HSC and Title 22. <br /> Within 30 days of receiving this report, please submit the Return to Compliance <br /> Certification.
