(UG) response to your facility <br /> inspection report letter dated August 11, 2014. Unified Grocers takes compliance with the San Joaquin <br /> County Environmental Health Department (EHD) inspection findings seriously and in addition to this <br /> response Unified Grocers has taken these additional steps to ensure compliance with hazardous waste <br /> regulations. <br /> 1) Elevated inspection findings and requirements to senior management. <br /> 2) Designated a Hazardous Waste Program Manager at the facility. <br /> 3) Conducted training on employees involved in the management and handling of hazardous <br /> waste. <br /> 4) Created and filled (Start date 9/29/14) a new Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) <br /> Specialist position for the Stockton facility. <br /> 5) Developed and implemented a Hazardous Waste Management Plan for the facility. <br /> Item 107 <br /> Waste analysis <br /> EHD has requested waste analysis for the following areas <br /> 1) "wastewater and the sludge from the clarifier, near the maintenance shop". UG has identified <br /> this area as the Maintenance Clarifier and is indicated as AREA 2 in the attached map. The <br /> analysis for this material has been included. Based on the attached analysis UG has determined <br /> this to be hazardous waste. <br /> 2) "dump tank". UG has identified this area as the Above Ground Storage Tank (AST) and is <br /> indicated as AREA 3 in the attached map. The analysis for the wastewater and sludge has been <br /> included. Based on the attached analysis UG has determined this to be non-hazardous. <br /> 3) "truck wash". UG has identified this area as the Truck Wash Clarifier and is indicated as AREA <br /> 1 in the attached map. The analysis for this material has been included.
