There were no indications that the sandblast waste was ever <br /> analyzed for hazardous properties. <br /> This has never been done. We are not sandblasting. We are <br /> taking new carbon steel inserts, dipping them in lye to remove <br /> any impurities and then using steel grit to make the surface <br /> smooth for a good rubber bond. There are no impurities in the <br /> waste grit. <br /> 12. Throughout the facility, there were areas where staining was <br /> evident and oily waste was on the floor. Take precautions to <br /> eliminate or minimize. <br /> Employees have been re-educated on housekeeping and re- <br /> trained as to the proper disposal of hazardous waste, oil and <br /> grease, sorbents and rags. <br /> 19. Containers with hazardous waste are permitted to be onsite no <br /> longer than 90 days. Remove the following drums under a <br /> manifest: <br /> a. 3 drums in Hazardous Waste Accumulation area. <br /> These drums are not waste. They have been removed from <br /> the area. We had a hazardous waste pick-up in March 2003. <br /> b. 6 drums in Millroom (S.E. corner). <br /> This was Banbury oil waiting to be pumped off to oil recycler. <br /> We have done so, paperwork attached from George Lowry, <br /> Inc. All drums will be labeled in the future. <br /> 20. Containers with hazardous waste must have labels: <br /> The above containers have been taken care of as noted in #19. <br />
