0
Corrections and responses to Notice to Comply Violations (from
4/3/03 inspection)
10. There were no indications that the sandblast waste was ever
analyzed for hazardous properties.
This has never been done. We are not sandblasting. We are
taking new carbon steel inserts, dipping them in lye to remove
any impurities and then using steel grit to make the surface
smooth for a good rubber bond. There are no impurities in the
waste grit.
12. Throughout the facility, there were areas where staining was
evident and oily waste was on the floor. Take precautions to
eliminate or minimize.
Employees have been re-educated on housekeeping and re-
trained as to the proper disposal of hazardous waste, oil and
grease, sorbents and rags.
19. Containers with hazardous waste are permitted to be onsite no
longer than 90 days. Remove the following drums under a
manifest:
a. 3 drums in Hazardous Waste Accumulation area.
These drums are not waste. They have been removed from
the area. We had a hazardous waste pick-up in March 2003.
b. 6 drums in Millroom (S.E. corner).
This was Banbury oil waiting to be pumped off to oil recycler.
We have done so, paperwork attached from George Lowry,
Inc. All drums will be labeled in the future.
20. Containers with hazardous waste must have labels:
The above containers have been taken care of as noted in #19.
