SECTION III: Evacuation Procedures
1 ) Alarms: Fire alarm sounds when sprinklers are set off in
buildings. Manufacturing buildings 1 thru 9 have sprinklers on
east side of the street, and buildings 1 1 , 12 and 18 on west
side of the street. Buildings 10, 13, 14, 15, 17 do not have
sprinklers. First reponder in charge will designate someone to
watch the sprinkler system valve to make sure no one turns
the system off before the fire department arrives.
2) Evacuation, (other than fire alarms) will be done verbally, with
notification given to foremen in all departments by radio or
telephone.
3) Employees will be instructed by their supervisors where to go
for assembly, such as a parking lot or the street. All
employees will report before leaving the facility. Unless
physically impossible, all evacutions will be made from
buildings to the Sacramento Street side.
4) The Emergency Coordinator will be responsible for notifying
outside emergency response agencies when an evacuation has
begun.
5) Evacuation drills will be done periodically (at least once a
year).
(4)
