C11c,kj UU 3:3: WASTES GENERATED UU During 1990, Dopaco's Stockton Plant disposed of a total of 284 ,773 pounds of hazardous wastes . Table 1 provides a breakdown of this total by waste stream. As the table indicates, 273 ,608 pounds of this total were contained in two (2 ) major waste streams . These streams are the combined ink/glue waste from the Gravure and Finishing Departments and the combined solid waste from these two departments. As illustrated in Table 2, these two waste streams are routinely generated hazardous wastes. Since these waste streams have historically been combined at the Stockton Plant, there are no records as to the the exact quantity of waste generated by each department. It has been estimated that 80% of the liquid waste and 75% of the solid waste is generated in the Gravure Department, Figure 2 . Therefore, it was decided to ' concentrate waste minimization efforts on these two waste streams with primary emphasis on the Gravure Department. DEVELOPMENT OF WASTE MINIMIZATION MEASURES As mentioned earlier and illustrated in Figure 2 , the largest portion of the hazardous wastes generated at the Stockton Plant is from the Gravure Department.
