TFD reported the incident to Garrett Backus of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Department (EHD) on October 19 at 12:45 am. <br /> OBSERVATIONS/COMMENTS: <br /> Garrett Backus of the EHD discussed the incident by telephone with Steve Hanlon (209) 640-4337 <br /> and Taylor Farms representative Antonio Zapien (209) 321-3859 at 1 am on October 19. Antonio <br /> said the lettuce cleaning is done with a chlorine solution mixed with T-128-smartwash. Antonio said <br /> the cleaning solution was out-of-balance, possibly causing the worker injuries. He said the solution <br /> was titrated to bring back into balance and is working correctly at the time of my telephone call.
