STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE <br /> Procedure#: DRAFT Title: <br /> Issue* 1 <br /> Issue Date: 7/15/2010 Waste Shipment Tem nbrW <br /> Supersedes Date: None <br /> 6.1 Start a hi met_ <br /> At the end of every even-numbered month,the Storekeeper will arrange a waste shipment. <br /> The Storekeeper orders an inventory of the Waste Stream from the Oiler. <br /> 6.2 Proam Containers for Shipment <br /> • The Oiler will weigh each container and record the weight of each container in the Waste Log <br /> and on each container. <br /> • The Oiler prepares the containers for shipment following the handling instructions in the <br /> Tracy Waste Stream. <br /> • The Oiler seals the containers that were weighed for shipment to prevent any addition to the <br /> containers.The Oiler separates the sealed containers from the active containers in the <br /> containment using tape and signs to prevent additions to the sealed containers. <br /> • The Oiler reports the shipment inventory to the Storekeeper. <br /> ,rr <br /> 6.3 ceder A S i e r� <br /> • The Storekeeper requests a waste shipment from the Transporter,using the information <br /> received from the Oiler. <br /> • The Transporter will prepare a waste manifest and shipment labels,and set a date and time for <br /> pick-up. <br /> • The Storekeeper informs the Oiler of the shipment date and time. <br /> 6.4 ShiRment Pigk-UR <br /> • The Storekeeper and Oiler will interact with the Transporter to facilitate the shipment. <br /> • The Oiler will update the Waste Log based on the actual pick-up,which can differ from what <br /> was planned. <br /> 6.5 NINdfuts, Billsin <br /> • The Transporter will arrive with a Hazardous Waste Manifest for the hazardous wastes in the <br /> shipment and a bill of lading for non-hazardous materials shipped. <br /> • The Storekeeper sends a legible copy of the manifests to DISC. <br /> • The Transporter will send a signed copy of receipt to the Storekeeper,documenting that the <br /> shipment went to the intended destination. <br /> • The Storekeeper will update the Manifest Log showing the signed copy of receipt is returned. <br /> • The Storekeeper will forward the signed copy of receipt to the EHS Coordinator. <br /> • The EHS Coordinator will file the signed copy of receipt in Folder 3120,marrying it to the <br /> original <br /> - <br /> • The Storekeeper arranges a 45-day reminder for the signed disposal receipt to return from the <br /> Transporter.if the signed receipt does not arrive in that time,the Storekeeper notifies the <br /> Maintenance Supervisor and the EHS Coordinator.The EHS Coordinator will send <br /> notification to DTSC of the discrepancy. <br /> • The Storekeeper records the shipping papers in the Waste Log file on the Storekeeper folder <br /> on the W:drive. <br /> • The Storekeeper sends the shipment papers to the EHS Coordinator,who files it in Folder <br /> 3120 of the Environmental files. <br /> 6.6 Refused Shingients <br /> 1 if any container is refused in a manifest,the Storekeeper will immediately request a 90-day <br /> extension from DTSC to store the refused container. <br /> Issued By Jim Dacayanan Authorized By: Shane Morin Page 2 of 3 <br />
