6. Hazardous Waste Program Inspection Minor Violation#15 Summary and <br /> Response- <br /> a. The spill pallet located in the Oil Storage Room was observed with <br /> standing dark liquid in the bottom. All facility communication and alarm <br /> systems, fire protection equipment, spill control equipment, and <br /> decontamination equipment, shall be tested and maintained as necessary to <br /> assure its proper operation in times of emergency. Spill pallets shall be <br /> maintained clean and dry at all times so as to catch any unintentional <br /> release from the primary containment. Immediately remove and properly <br /> dispose of all hazardous waste from spill pallets, and maintain all spill <br /> containment clean and dry at all times. <br /> i. Response- Spill pallets were emptied and cleaned. The contents <br /> were disposed in the appropriate waste stream. The Oil Storage <br /> Room is fully contained in secondary containment making the spill <br /> pallets redundant. Spill pallets will be used elsewhere in <br /> operations. <br /> ii. Our Standard Operating Procedure for Spill Response is edited to <br /> include immediate clean-up of any impacted secondary <br /> containment. <br /> iii. Further, our corporate weekly multi-media checklist (FO 1-B) is <br /> locally edited to provide a routine check on all secondary <br /> containment of the facility to trigger a corrective or preventive <br /> action. <br /> b. STATUS: Complete <br /> c. Attached documents <br /> i. "Before" pictures, spill pallets in Oil Storage. <br /> ii. "After" pictures, spill pallets cleaned and removed from secondary <br /> containment. <br /> iii. Updated Spill Response SOP, with highlighted change on page 3 <br /> of the SOP. <br /> iv. Updated Area Environmental Inspection Form-Manufacturing, <br /> Form FO 1-B with the changed Item 8. Highlighted. <br />
