an additional pH probe and meter on the effluent pipeline. This additional
probe will act as a backup and will be wired to shut down both systems if a high
or low pH condition occurs. Although we have operated this system for over ten years
within the limits of the NPDES permit, we do not want another failure of this type
to threaten the quality of the water we discharge. We will conduct a prompt review of our entire
system to ensure that no other single equipment failure can cause an out -of -permit condition.
Our company policy requires full adherence to all environmental regulations and permit conditions,
and we sincerely regret this incident. We would be happy to discuss our response and corrective
actions with you at your convenience.
David Lieb
Marley Cooling Technologies
Stockton, CA 95215
ph 209-465-3451 ex 244
fax 209-464-8059
e-mail david liebCa marlevct.com
c: John Russell, Water Board
Sudhakar Talanki, Water Board
Richard Hume, DTSC
Emmanuel Mensah, DTSC
Harlin Knoll, County Env.
Dan McGrade, SPX
Roibin Ryan, SPX
Ken Holiday, Marley
file
