There must be at least one emergency coordinator on site or on call to <br />coordinate emergency response measures, and the following information must be posted by a phone: the name and <br />phone number of the emergency coordinator, location of fire extinguishers, spill control equipment, and if present, fire <br />alarm; and the phone number of the fire department, unless the facility has a direct alarm. Immediately appoint an <br />emergency coordinator and post the required information by a phone. A form is provided that can be used for this <br />purpose. <br />This is a minor violation. <br />301 <br />CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. <br />Significant amounts of wash water residue, dried paint and sanding dust were found in runoff toward the storm drain. <br />Facilities shall be maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous <br />waste to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. Immediately stop <br />contaminated water from reaching the storm drain, and manage according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. <br />Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed. <br />This is a minor violation. <br />403 <br />CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous <br />waste. <br />The following containers were found open and with the lid unsecured: <br />-Two blue, steel, 55 gallon drums of waste paint filters. <br />All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except when adding or removing waste. Immediately <br />close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed when not adding or removing waste. <br />This is a minor violation. <br />406 <br />CCR 66261.7(f) Contaminated container not marked with date emptied or managed within one year of being emptied. <br />According to Don Kerr, a parts washer in the paint building has been deactivated and is in the process of being <br />removed. The parts washer contains a strong solvent odor and has not been marked empty or indicated which date it <br />was emptied. Containers larger than five gallons that previously held a hazardous material shall be marked with the <br />date they were emptied and managed within one year of being emptied.
