Work Plan <br /> Underground Storage Tank Removal <br /> 210,000-gallon UST Removal Project <br /> Newark Sierra Paperboard Mills <br /> 800 West Church Street <br /> Stockton, California <br /> SITE MOBILIZATION <br /> Prior to site activities,the excavation areas will be delineated and posted with appropriate warning signs <br /> to prevent unauthorized entry of personnel and/or ignition sources. Each of the enclosed areas will be <br /> considered a project work area. <br /> Utility Locate <br /> During the mobilization phase of the project, the Project Manager will contact Underground Service Alert <br /> and any non-affiliated Service providers to have the utilities located within the work area prior to <br /> commencement of remedial activities. Once the utilities are located,the Project Manager will ensure that <br /> locations are noted on the drawings prior to the start of any work. Any discrepancies will be brought to <br /> the attention of the HLA Project Manager. All underground and/or exposed utility lines will be located, <br /> flagged and marked. Markers will be maintained throughout the project in order to protect the utilities. <br /> Overhead lines and guy wires be interrupted due to construction,the HLA Project Manager will be <br /> notified in writing 48 hours prior to desired date of interruption. <br /> Site Layout <br /> The project site will be delineated into three separate zones: The Exclusion Zone,the Contamination <br /> Reduction Zone and the Support Zone. All travel between zones will be in strict accordance with the Site <br /> Health and Safety Plan. All boundaries will be delineated and posted,including warning signs. Zone <br /> boundaries within the project work area will be delineated with caution tape and warning signs. <br /> UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK EXCAVATION <br /> Preparation for Excavation <br /> Ogiso Environmental will saw cut and strip away the wooden cover that would otherwise interfere with <br /> the removal of the tank. The wooden cover will be loaded into end dumps and transported to Forward <br /> Landfill for disposal as construction debris. <br /> Underground Storage Tank <br /> The underground storage tank will be exposed utilizing a Caterpillar 335 excavator or equivalent Where <br /> the excavation is approaching a known utility line,the technician will manually excavate the line until it <br /> is clearly visible by the operator. All soil will be stockpiled and covered by visqueen. <br /> 4strurmeatment of Piping <br /> associated pi be removed. However, in the event that the removal of the plumbing will cause <br /> c ra amage to a building, sidewalks, or major vegetation.
