Employees will be reminded that even though the excavations are shored, that it is always <br /> extremely beneficial to remain cautious of the situation. Extreme caution will be used to assure <br /> that heavy equipment does not upset the shoring system. In situations where size of the <br /> excavation is not restricted, the excavation will be sloped to the angle of repose. <br /> Noise Levels <br /> Whenever feasible,noise levels, identified as exceeding 85 decibels, will be reduced by means of <br /> engineering controls. These controls will include isolation, enclosure and application of noise <br /> reduction materials. Hearing protection shall be worn at all times when noise levels are suspected <br /> of being equal to or exceeding 85 decibels. Use of portable "walkman-type" radios are prohibited <br /> _ at any.time. A copy of the OSHA Occupational Noise Standard, 29 CFR 1910.95 shall be <br /> available, and copies shall be made available to employees upon request. GIRL Kause Inc. <br /> maintains a continuous hearing conservation program in accordance with 29 CFR Par 1910.95. <br /> Weather <br /> The weather condition is am important consideration in planning and conducting site operations. <br /> Extremely hot or cold weather can cause physical discomfort, loss of efficiency and personal <br /> injury.
