Comconex Road <br />Manteca, California <br />On December 12, 1989, Groundwater Resources, Inc. (GRI) removed one <br />10,000 gallon and one 5,000 gallon underground gasoline fuel tank <br />from the Contel facility located at 17855 S. Comconex Road in <br />Manteca, California. <br />The tanks were decontaminated on site using a high pressure steam <br />cleaner and inerted with dry ice. Rinsate was disposed of at <br />Gibson Oil and Refining in Bakersfield under hazardous waste <br />manifest 88433638. The tanks were removed to Nunes Heavy Equipment <br />Service at 20405 Austin Road in Manteca. <br />Soil was sampled under San Joaquin County Health Department <br />direction at both ends of each tank, at a depth of two feet beneath <br />the base. The samples were analyzed at B.C. Laboratories in <br />Bakersfield for BTXE, TPH (gasoline), tetraethyl lead and <br />ethylenedi bromide. Only minute qualities of ethylenedi bromide were <br />detected (.32 - .66 ug/kg). <br />Enclosed are copies of the lab <br />disposition tracking record and <br />if there are further questions. <br />Sincerely, <br />Claus L.
