Simpson Co. SITE CODE : 1068
4025 Coronado Ave .
Stockton, CA
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health
Division (PHS/EHD) has reviewed the analytical results of the
soil samples collected beneath the underground storage tank that
was permanently closed at the above referenced site on July 2,
1996 .
Based on the levels of contaminants present in the samples
collected, further investigation to determine the extent of the
soil and/or groundwater contamination is required.
An "Underground Storage Tank Unauthorized Release
(Leak) /Contaminated Site Report" has been filed pursuant to
Section 25295 of the Health and Safety Code (HSC) . The
appropriate disclosure of a hazardous waste discharge pursuant to
Section 25180 . 7 of the HSC has been made, and the site has been
placed on the list of contaminated sites in San Joaquin County
which is maintained by PHS/EHD.
PHS/EHD under contract with the State of California Water
Resources Control Board (SWRCB) oversees the investigation and
remediation of contamination from leaking UST' s . Responsible
parties must take corrective action in response to an
unauthorized release, in compliance with Section 25299 . 37 of the
HSC and Corrective Action Regulations adopted pursuant to Section
25299 . 77 of the HSC.
PHS/EHD uses the SWRCB "Prioritization System for Leaking
Underground Storage Tank Sites" to prioritize all the
contaminated sites . You will be directed to begin the required
investigation, based upon the priority ranking of the site and
PHS/EHD staff availability.
Unless further excavation of the tank pit is currently proposed,
the tank excavation should be filled. Open tank excavations
allow for downward migration of contaminants . Contact the
appropriate building department for requirements prior to filling
the excavation.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
