Airport Way <br />Manteca, CA 95336 <br />Re: Two 1,000 -gallon underground storage tanks <br />The Project Manager and Health & Safety coordinator is: Mike Flores of Stockton Service <br />Station Equipment Co. hic., 808 N. Union Street, Stockton, CA 95205. Phone 209464-8333. <br />The Alternate Site Safety Officer is: Randy Chadwick or Mike Jones of Stockton Service <br />Station Equipment Co. Inc. <br />Stockton Service Station Equipment Co. hic., will have on site two (2) fire extinguishers and one first aid <br />kit within 50 feet of the tank area where flammable vapors are present Stockton Service Station <br />Equipment Co. Inc. shall notify the local fire department and U.S.A. dg 48 hours before excavation shall <br />begin. The tanks will be emptied of product before start of job. The tanks will be triple rinsed and dry iced <br />(30 lbs. Per 1000 gallons) before lifting tanks. Stockton Service Station Equipment Co. Inc. shall monitor <br />tanks with a Low Explosion Level (LEL) meter. <br />We will seal all openings and one plug will have 1/8" openings, before tanks will be transported, along with <br />piping. At no time will Stockton Service Station Equipment Co. hic. cut or weld on site. <br />The tanks will be secured on truck after excavation for transportation, tanks and plumbing will be hauled <br />away by Cal -Coast Equipment, 700 N. Walnut, Turlock, CA 95380, (209) 668-9378. <br />Stockton Service Station Equipment Co. Inc. will approach all excavations with possible cave-ins. The <br />following riles will be followed to prevent any mishap. <br />1. Soil will be inspected for stability before and after removal. <br />2. Soil to be at least two (2) feet from edge of excavation. <br />3. If excavation is five (5) feet or more, the hole shall be tapered, braced or other equipment methods <br />will be used to prevent possible cave-ins. Precautions will be implemented at all times. <br />On the job site, clean fill will be used to backfill the empty hole, after soil samples have been taken by <br />Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc., 4005 N. Wilson Way, Stockton, CA 95205, (209) 467-1006. <br />Soil samples will be excavated using a backhoe. Samples will be taken two (2) feet to four (4) feet at the <br />tank bottom by hand, using brass tubes. All of the above procedures will be according to code. Any part <br />not backfilled, shall be barricaded and caution tape will be used. <br />
