Be sure you have completed the necessary paperwork with the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department prior to applying for City of Stockton permits. Also, please <br /> note that a minimum of 4 hours advance notice is regiu red. keeping in mind that the more <br /> advance notice given the more likely your inspection will be scheduled on the date of your <br /> choice. <br /> 1. A written safety plan is required that meets Cal-Osha requirements. <br /> 2. Post signs prohibiting any igNtion source: <br /> a) Example: "No Smoking,' "No Cutting and Welding,' etc <br /> 3. Provide a minimum rated 20BC or larger fire extinguisher at tank site. <br /> 4. You must have a calibrated, explosion-proof combustible gas meter on site. <br /> a) LEL Md Oxygen must both be below 9% prior to removal; or <br /> b) oxygen only, 5% on the oxygen for gasoline and diesel tanks; or <br /> c) LEL only, 1% on gasoline and diesel. <br /> d) Extra filters and equipment to calibrate instruments must be on site. <br /> e) Make and model number of instrument must be available to inspector. <br /> f) Appropriate measures are required to assure the LEL percentage is maintained <br /> during and after excavation. <br /> 1) Monitor tanks once per hour for LEL and Oxygen after removal from <br /> ground while on site. <br />
