No. TK HQ 44024926 <br /> Dear Ms. Briggs, <br /> I am writing in response to an underground storage tank <br /> inspectionxeport dated 7/14/94 for the above referenced tank <br /> whose site is: Airport Way Lube, Ray Lopez, business owner/ <br /> operator, 442 N. Airport Way, Stockton, CA 95205, Phone No. <br /> (209)462-0253. This report indicates that I. as the leasor <br /> of the property, need to submit proof of financial responsibi- <br /> lity for this tank by 8/115/94. <br /> My main question is this: who is required to show financial <br /> responsibility for this tank at this time, the business owner/ <br /> operator who is putting the oil into the tank or the leasor of <br /> the property whose sole interest in the business is collect.in- <br /> rent? <br /> Mr. Ray Lopez, the business owner/o-oprator, entered into <br /> a 20-year lease agreement in 1980 at which time the property was <br /> improved per his specifications to enable him to operate an auto <br /> lube business. He has been the sole occupant of this property <br /> since it was improved. He agreed to conform to all city, state <br /> and federal laws andregulations, present and future, pertaining <br /> to the operation of his business. He also zgreed to bexesponsi- <br /> ble for all maintenance, repair, insurance, etc. relating to <br /> his business. <br /> I know that, as the leasor of the property, the final <br /> responsibility is mine, but as long as Mr. Lopez is the owner/ <br /> operator of this business at this location, .it seems to me that <br /> he is the one who should be contacted regarding the current <br /> financial responsibility for this tank. <br /> Please answer these questions as soon as possible.
