Box 744 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> Dear Mr. Smith: <br /> This letter is in response to your request for additional infor- <br /> mation on the purchase price for the existing 12, 000 gallon fuel <br /> storage tank which you currently lease on a month-to-month basis in <br /> the Airport Fuel Farm area, and the maintenance responsibilities you <br /> would inherit should you elect to purchase the existing fuel tank, <br /> plumbing and pumping equipment. <br /> To answer your questions regarding the purchase of this equipment, <br /> the Department of Aviation is willing to sell you the existing tank <br /> and related equipment for a total cost of $222. 63, which is equal to <br /> the cost of registration, plus the remaining undepreciated value of <br /> the tank. The purchase price for this equipment is non-refundable. <br /> If you elect to purchase this equipment, you will be responsible <br /> for all federal, state and local laws and regulations implemented <br /> under the California Underground Storage Tank Regulations. Simply <br /> stated, all predision tank testing, tank monitoring and reporting <br /> requirements will be your responsibility in addition to all future <br /> repairs or maintenance required to meet Health and Safety Code <br /> Standards pertaining to underground fuel storage tanks. <br /> If you should decide to purchase this equipment, and at a later <br /> date, choose to abandon the operation, it will be your respon- <br /> sibility to remove the tank, piping and all related equipment. Upon <br /> completion of removal, you will be required to back-fill all exca- <br /> vated areas, restoring the site to standards acceptable to all <br /> federal, state and local requirements at no cost to the Department <br /> of Aviation and/or San Joaquin County. <br /> In the event initial tank testing reveals this tank to be a leaker, <br /> the Department of Aviation will assume all legal responsibility for <br /> clean up and removal of the tank and associated equipment. <br /> As with all other Airport fuel concessionaire agreements, you will <br /> be assessed a fee for the use of the premises and the privilege to <br /> dispense automotive gasoline on Airport property.
