Box 744
Stockton, CA 95201
Subject: Fuel Storage Facility Lease at Stockton Metropolitan
Airport
Dear Mr. Smith:
As you know, the State of California has adopted and implemented new
and stringent safety standards and regulations regarding the
Underground Fuel Storage Tank Permit process.
Based upon the recommendations we received from the consulting
engineer hired by the County of San Joaquin to evaluate the various
compliance requirements for the California Underground Storage Tank
Permit process and the subsequent tank testing and monitoring
requirements, the consulting engineer and the Airport staff have
concluded that it would not be in the best interest of the County
and/or the Airport to maintain ownership of these facilities.
In reviewing your Airport Lease agreement, it has been noted that
the original lease expired on December 31, 1980 and this lease is
now being exercised under the provision of Part II, Article 25
( Standard Conditions to Agreements at Stockton Metropolitan Airport )
which provides for the continuation of the lease on a month-to-month
basis.
With due consideration of all available information, the management
staff at Stockton Metropolitan Airport is proposing the following
two options for your consideration with regard to the continued
operation of these facilities:
1. Purchase the existing fuel tank, plumbing and pumping
equipment "as is", at a nominal fee and implement the
testing and monitoring requirements as established by
federal, state and local laws and regulations.
5000 AIRPORT WAY•STOCKTON,CALIFORNIA 95206 "(209)9824270
Owned rmd Opervlyd by
the County of Son/oopu/n
