V V
LEEDSHILL•HERKENNOFF. INC.
Ms. Jeanne M. Zolezzi SUBJECT TO ATTORNEY/CLIENT PRIVILEGE
January 16, 1990 CONTAINS ATTORNEY WORK PRODUCT
Page 2
Task 2: Laboratory Tests
Analyses of soil and water samples will be made by Superior Analytical Laboratory,
a state certified hazardous waste laboratory. The samples will be analyzed for
benzene, toluene, xylene, and ethylbenzene (BTX&E) and total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline (fPH), under standard laboratory turnaround times.
Initially soil samples collected from depths of 10, 20, and 30 feet in each boring will
be analyzed for BTX&E constituents. If better vertical definition is required, a cost
allowance to perform a total of 2 additional analyses from intermediate depths (i.e.,
15, 25, etc.) has been made within this budget.
Task 3: Prepare Report
Following the site investigation and receipt of the laboratory test results, a brief
letter report will be prepared setting forth the results of the investigation. The report
will document investigative methods; results of laboratory tests; and
recommendations.
COST FOR BASIC ENGINEERING SERVICES
LH has estimated that Basic Engineering Services described in Tasks 1 through 3 above
will cost approximately $26,900. LH will conduct all work on a time-and-materials basis
with services provided in accordance with our current Standard Schedule of Fees, which
is attached. Costs for LH subconsultants will be billed at cost plus 10 percent. This offer
is good for thirty (30) calendar days from January 15, 1990, and is contingent on Regional
Water Quality Control Board and Public Health Services San Joaquin County's acceptance
of the scope of work outlined above. The tabulation below presents a breakdown of
these anticipation costs:
Estimated Phase I Costs
Professional Services $14,500
Drilling/Sampling/Monitoring $12,700
Well Installations
Laboratory Analyses $ 1,700
$28,900
