MEMO I '
41838 CHRIST`! STREET • FREMONT, CA 94538
PHONE (415) 6594404 • CONTR. UC. No. 484324
January 23, 1987
Quote No. 6094G
Mr. Larry Hardison
Stockton Service Station
Equipment Co., Inc.
P.O. Box 508
Stockton, CA 95201
Re: Soil Sampling Beneath Subsurface Storage Tank
Dear Mr. Hardison:
This letter is to confirm.our phone conversation of January 21
concerning soil sampling and analysis.at 3200 East 8 Mile Road in
Stockton, California. The purpose of the sampling is to ascertain
whether or not leakage has occurred in an in-place diesel storage
tank.
One exploratory boring will be drilled at approximately a 45
degree angle. Soil samples will be collected at five foot intervals.
Samples will be logged, sealed with foil, capped, and packed in ice
for transport to the laboratory. The borehole will be backfilled with
grout upon completion.
Soil samples will be analyzed for total extractable hydrocarbons
at a state certified analytical laboratory using EPA approved methods.
Exceltech will prepare a letter report documenting sample location,
borehole log, and a copy of the chemical analysis report. The above
work is proposed for a fixed fee of It is our understanding
that the boring site is not obstructed by overhead wires or under-
ground utilities and the price is dependent upon this assumption.
Currently, we are awaiting the arrival of a permit application
from San Joaquin Local Health District. A drilling date will be
designated when the well permit is approved. We will advise you of
the date at that time.
If you have any question, please contact our office.
Very truly yours,
Exceltech, Inc.
Stephen Costello
Staff Geologist
cc San Joaquin Local Health District
Ms. Laurie Cotulla
