Soil and water samples were obtained from
two geotechnical borings on-site. the analytical results for the samples
indicate that ground water beneath the site has been impacted by discharges of
petroleum hydrocarbons.
According to the report, Thorne Environmental was to have prepared the
necessary applications to initiate and complete a preliminary report to assess
the contamination at this site. However, you have indicated that further
investigation will not be conducted without direction from the Regional Board.
Therefore, we direct you to proceed with the investigation to complete a
Problem Assessment Report (PAR) as described in Appendix A to the Tri-Regional
Recommendations (enclosed) .
In addition to investigating the area where the contaminants were detected,
the investigation should include all current and former underground storage
tank areas on-site. Also, please submit the results of the 11 May 1989 tank
testing with the report. Please submit the completed PAR no later than
16 March 1990.
r
If you have any questions, please call me at (916) 361-5731 .
THOMAS D.
