oLEAK DETECTION
TECH NOLOGIESLLc
1400 East Paseo Pavon • Tucson,AZ 85718 • Phone 520.207.4878 • FAX: 520.990.8965
www.LeakDetcct.net
RE:
Site Specific ELD Work Plan
Costco Fuel Facility 1031
2440 DANIELS STREET
MANTECA, CA 95336
MDleak"
New Construction Enhanced Leak Detection
Work Plan
Acknowledgements:
New Construction Enhanced Leak Detection (ELD) is recognized by States Regulators, State Funds,
Insurance Companies, and Petroleum Companies around the United States that desire to operate at a level
greater than the federal standard allowable leak rate of 876 gallons per-year by component. In the State of
California In-Service Enhanced Leak Detection (ELD) is a regulated testing method. MDleak® testing
method provides protection to the environment that can eliminate site contamination by reducing the
allowable leak rate to 44 gallons per-year. Companies, State Funds, and State Regulators that have
embraced this state-of-the-art leak detection technology have acknowledged that sensitive leak detection
techniques actually save money over conventional testing methods. MDleak® test method is approved by
both the National Work Group on Leak Detection Evaluations (NWGLDE) as well as the California State
Water Resources Control Board (CWRCB). Leak Detection Technologies, LLC, (LDT) and Leak
Detection Operations, Inc are authorized service providers of the MDleak® method.
Flexible:
MDleak® is a flexible testing method which allows owners to choose the sensitivity or leak rate of the
test. In some cases the facility owners may require a 0.2 gph minimum leak rate where at other facilities
an ultra high or enhanced sensitivity leak rate (0.005gph) is required. The MDleak® testing method is
unlike other conventional testing methods in that it can deliver an adjustable sensitivity to fit nearly any
test protocol.
Economical:
The MDleak® test method is designed to identify and locate the leak source. This ability to pinpoint
leaks can save our clients dollars in lost time and unnecessary excavation. Conventional testing methods
can detect leaks but cannot identify the source of the leak within the system. Leak Detection
Technologies (LDT) ability to locate leaks with precision reduces downtime and saves our customer
dollars.
Author David Rabb 1 of 3
