UNDERGROUND HAZARDOUS MATERIAL STORAGE FACILITY <br /> CLOSURE AND REMOVAL WORKPLAN <br /> DECONTAMINATION PROCEDURES <br /> Any remaining product will be pumped from tank(s) into vacuum truck for immediate legal <br /> disposal or into approved 55 gallon drums for containment, labeling and proper disposal. <br /> The tanks will then be "Triple Riifsed" with pressure water and a non- halogenated <br /> cleaner. All rinsate will be contained in d or collected into a vacuum truck and properly <br /> disposed of under manifest. <br /> Any onsight containment drums will be properly labeled/ <br /> A California Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest will be prepared and all tank rinsate d <br /> residual product will be shipped and disposed of under manifest according to state an local <br /> regulations. <br /> Prescribed safety procedures according to Helmick & Lemer's Health atiSafety plan for the <br /> closure of underground hazardous material storage facilities, (on file) shall be strictly adhered <br /> to. <br /> TANK REMOVAL <br /> Helmick & Lerner holds a California General Engineering "A" License #589667 and also has <br /> the California Hazardous Substance and Remedial Action Certificate. The project manager J. <br /> Brian Goins, has 12 years experience in the removal of underground tanks and the disposal of <br /> hazardous materials. He also holds the Union Pacific Identifying Hazardous Materials <br /> Certificate. All Helmick & Lerner personnel have the OSHA 40 Hazardous Materials Workers <br /> Training Certification. <br /> After tank sight is opened and the tanks are rinsed, osphere inside the tanks will be <br /> checked with LEL/OXYGEN meter. Approximatel two arho <br /> rescribrs prior to the scheduled lifting <br /> of the tanks, using dry ice at the ped rate, t e ks will be purged of any volitile <br /> vapors, and will be monitored according to the attached fire department "GUIDELINES FOR <br /> UNDERGROUND TANK REMOVAL" or whomever has jurisdiction. <br /> A fire department permit will be obtained if required. <br /> Removal will not commence until permit for closure has been obtained from San Joaquin <br /> County Environmental Health Division. The I.D. numbers issued be San Joaquin County will <br /> be placed on the tanks using fluorescent red/orange paint after the tanks are removed. <br />
