h.
19 April 1999
AGE -NC Project No. 95-0197
The laboratory report (PEAL Sample I.D. No. PE4192 and PE4277) and chains -of -custody forms
are presented in Appendix G.
` 2.3. BACKFILLING OF EXCAVATION
On 18 January 1999 and 10 February 1999, the UST cavity was partially backfilled utilizing
., approximately 125 tons of 5/16 -inch pea gravel. Delivery receipts for pea gravel to the site are
included as Appendix H.
L On 10 February 1999, soil stockpiled on the west portion of the site was re -utilized to completely
backfill the former UST cavity. Backfill material achieved approximately 90 percent compaction
utilizing a compaction wheel.
2.4. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK DISPOSITION TRACKING RECORD
In accordance with PHS-EHD guidelines, the UST Disposition Tracking Record is included with
Appendix I.
in. 3.0. RESULTS OF LABORATORY ANALYSIS
A total of thirteen soil samples were submitted to a state -certified laboratory for analysis of TPH-g,
6. TPH-d, BTEX, fuel oxygenates and total lead. Utilizing EPA Method 8015M, TPH-g was detected
in soil samples collected beneath both dispenser samples (Dispenser No. 1 and Dispenser No. 2) at
concentrations as high as 6 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg). TPH-d was not detected above
laboratory reporting limits from any of the analyzed samples.
Total lead was detected beneath the west end of UST No. 1, from stockpiled soil samples (SP -1, SP -
2, SP -3, SP -5 and SP -6), beneath both dispenser samples and from the product pipe sample at
concentrations as high as 2.85 mg/kg.
L
BTEX constituents and fuel oxygenates were not detected above laboratory reporting limits from
any of the analyzed samples. The analytical results of selected soil samples are summarized in Table
1. The laboratory report (PEAL Sample I.D. No. PE4192 and PE4277) and chains -of -custody forms
are presented in Appendix G.
i.
V
Advanced GeoEm ironmental. Inc.
