HAZARD EVALUATION
The following substance(s) or hazards are known or suspected to be on site.
SUBSTANCES INVOLVED: CONCEVTR:ITIONS:
Benzene unknown
Toluene unknown
Ethyl-benzene unknown
To xylenes unknown
Gasoline(TPH-gasoline) unknown
Other or anic-based roducts (e.g.,fw.,xywutes) unknown
The primary hazards of each are identified as follows:
1. Hydrocarbon fuels - Components of fuels are colorless liquids with strong aromatic
petroleum hydrocarbon-like odors. They are flammable and have low solubility in water.
Exposure to these materials in excess of recommended exposure limits can cause mild eye,
nose, and throat irritation and can produce a narcotic effect on the central nervous system
Symptoms of exposure at these concentrations include headache, nausea, drowsiness,
dizziness,and loss of coordination.Certain components ofgasoline(BTE&X etc.)are known
or suspected carcinogens.
The additional potential hazards include: Slip-16V-fall hazards, noise, heave equipment (i.e.,
Geoprobe rip), vibration hazards, traffic hazards, etc.
Advanced Geo&nvlron ta4 Inc.
