None was apparent. The tank was <br />rinsed and then rendered inert by placing the appropriate amount of dry ice inside the tank. The <br />lower explosive level (LEL) for gasoline and oxygen content was then monitored. When LEL <br />and oxygen levels were within safe limits, Tank 4 was removed. Soil discoloration was apparent <br />on the floor of excavation, and a slight diesel/gas odor was noted. Soil samples were collected <br />from the eastern and western floors of the pit at approximately 2 feet below below the former tank <br />bottom. PID measurements confirmed the presence volatile constituents in the soil. <br />
