Heinz U.S.A.
Dear Steve,
Thank you for discussing the circumstances related to the tank removal at the above
property with me today. I have been considering this tank removal with Jim Devenport
and Kevin Fitzpatrick from the Cranbrook Group over the past two years. It is our goal
to remove the 40,000 gallon tank, provide factory re -certification to prove its integrity,
and reuse the tank for storage of diesel fuel subject to the approval of Public Health
Services and implementation of the manufacturer's procedures for storage and
re -certification. Foster Farms is considering installing the tank at a site in Stanislaus
County pending regulatory approval and finalization of their plans. Stanislaus County
Department of Environmental Resources concurs with the use of a re -certified tank and
has tentatively approved its use subsequent to inspection and re -certification. We are
prepared to store the tank in a secured area onsite or at SEMCO's facility at 1217 South
7'h Street, Modesto, California, pending final disposition.
