Development will continue until relatively clear water is
discharged. It is estimated that no more than 55 gallons of
development water will be produced at any one well.
4 .2 Soil and Groundwater Anal sis
Soil and groundwater samples collected during this investigation
will be submitted to Twining's California certified laboratory in
Fresno, California. Samples will be analyzed for TPH-G and BTEX.
Proposed preparation and analytical methods for the laboratory
analyses are summarized in Table 1. A description of laboratory
quality assurance/quality control procedures proposed for the
analyses are described in the SOPS presented in Appendix A.
TABLE 1
PREPARATION AND ANALYTICAL METHODS
Type of Analysis Preparation Method Analytical Method
Total Petroleum 5030 GC/FID'
Hydrocarbons -
Gasoline
Benzene, Toluene, 5030 8020 - Soil
Ethylbenzene, Total 602' - water
Xylenes
5030 - Purge & Trap
GC/FID = Gas Chromatography/Flame Ionization Detection
1 California State Water Resources Control Board, February 1988, Gas
Chromatography/Flame Ionization Detection, Draft Method for Total
Petroleum Hydrocarbons, Hazardous Material Laboratory, Department of
Health Services, Reproduced from the Leaking Underground Fuel Tank (LUFT)
Field Manual.
2 United States Environmental Protection Agency, March 1983, Methods for
Chemical Analysis of water and Waste, Second Edition.
4 .3 Technical Report
Upon completion of field and laboratory activities, a technical
report will be prepared summarizing results and findings.
