CITY OF STOCKTON UNDERGROUND TANK LEAKAGE SITES
A meeting was held on July 18, 1995 at the office of San Joaquin County Public
Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) and was attended by City
of Stockton representatives James Giottonini, Jim Escobar, John Fukumoto, Greg
Brazile, and Stephen Chen, Smith Environmental representative Tom Lutterman and
PHS/EHD representatives Linda Turkatte, Margaret Lagorio, and Steven Sasson. The
purpose of the meeting was to evaluate progress and to establish schedules for
future work at the sites discussed below.
22 East Market
The results of the Sesoil model will be submitted by August 18, 1995.
The input parameters will be submitted prior to running the model, within
one week following the meeting.
Fontana Drive at Smith Canal
Tom Switzer of Smith Environmental is putting together costs for soil
venting at this site. The costs and effectiveness of this technology will
be compared to the alternative of excavation which was already
proposed for the site. If this alternative may be feasible and more cost
effective, a revised Corrective Action Plan will be submitted after a pilot
test is performed. A decision will be made in three to four weeks.
110 West Sonora
The Final Remedial Plan (FRP) addendum was discussed. The
proposed groundwater extraction will not be implemented at this time
but soil vapor extraction will be started now with the possibility of adding
additional wells if needed (possibly air sparge wells). While the vapor
extraction system is operating, the City may request a reduction of
sampling frequency in some of the wells at the site. PHS/EHD will send
a written response to the City regarding the FRP.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
