Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
RE: GRANT LINE ROAD/HOLLY DRIVE STREET IMPROVEMENTS
CIP #9310-705
UNDERGROUND GAS TANK - REQUEST FOR WAIVER OF BACKCHARGE FEES
Dear Bill:
As I explained on the telephone, September 30, 1993 , the City's
Contractor discovered an existing underground tank during road
excavation of the above referenced project, which consists of
widening of the Grant Line Road/Holly Drive intersection. The
tank is located on the southwest corner of the intersection.
In order to widen the intersection , the City had purchased
additional right-of-way from Tracy Veterinary Clinic in January,
1991. The City of Tracy had no prior knowledge of the existence
of an underground tank at this property.
At this time, we have suspended all construction activities.
Construction of the project will stay on hold until proper
arrangements are made to remove and dispose of the tank. The
City's consultant, Resna Industries, is in the process of
obtaining necessary permits to remove the underground storage
tank.
The City of Tracy is hereby requesting you waive any fees,
penalties and backcharges related to this matter. If you need
further information, please contact me at (209) 836-4420.
Sincerely,
S.
