THE
May 30, 1991 SOUTHLAND
CORPORATION
San Joaquin County Dept.
of Environmental Services
c/o Ms. Laurie A. Cotulla
P.O. Box 2009
Stockton, Ca 95201 RF ®
Re: Southland property #20304 JUN 3 1991
455 W Grantline Road ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
Tracy, Ca PLIWAIT/SERViC,ES
Dear Ms. Cotulla:
I am writing in response to your letter dated May 3 , 1991.
You will find the following discussion responds to six (6) of
your seven (7) comments. You will find that a letter re-
sponse from the project consultant, Harding Lawson, is en-
closed in response to item number seven (7) .
Item #1 tank information discrepancies-
All of your comments outlined in item number
one (1) are correct and there-are no discrepancies.
Prior to October 30, 1986, this location operated
with the following tank assignment:
Regular leaded gasoline (north of three)
Premium unleaded gasoline (center of three)
Unleaded gasoline (south of three)
Precision tank testing which was actually complete
on October 28, 1986 revealed that the regular (north)
and premium (center) tanks were in compliance. The
no lead (south) tank did not meet N.F.P.A.
specifications.
On October 30 , 1986 the south tank which at that time
contained unleaded fuel was emptied of its contents and
no longer remained in service. In 1986 unleaded fuel
made up 608 of this location's overall gasoline sales
volume. Because premium unleaded gasoline only made up
approximately 148 of the gasoline sales volume, it was a
logical choice to re-grade the center tank as unleaded
gasoline. This change occurred simultaneously with the
unleaded pump out.
S,mthlnnd Environmental Savlces/Location 2981 i 5520 Stoneridge Mail Row:!Suire 310/PO.
