The SJCPHS letter contains seven comments,
followed by a request for quarterly groundwater monitoring and
reporting. The letter also requests a final remediation plan
that would be submitted for public notice.
We understand that the Southland Corporation will respond to
Comments One through Six, and that HLA will be authorized to
perform quarterly groundwater monitoring and reporting for a one
year period beginning in June, 1991. This letter presents a
rationale for delaying the presentation of a final remediation
plan until four quarters of groundwater monitoring data can be
obtained and analyzed.
PROJECT STATUS
HLA has investigated soil and groundwater conditions at the 7-
Eleven Store from November 1987 through May 1989, following an
underground tank leak. As part of the investigation, we
installed 15 monitoring wells on and immediately adjacent to the
site (Plate 1) . In March 1989, Well MW-7 was destroyed during
removal of underground tanks. The other wells are believed to
be still in place.
Enaineenng and 1355 Willow Way. Suite 109.
