Hazelton Avenue ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
Stockton, California 95201 PLIICvf
Reference: Remedial Action at the Pacific Bell Facility
on Ashley Road in Stockton, California;
Versar Project No. 1148-035°
t
Dear Mr. Knoll:
On June 5, 1992 , Versar, Inc. (Versar) , on behalf of Pacific
Bell, submitted a report entitled, "Interim Remediation/Pilot '
Study Report" for the subject site. In this report, it was
concluded that the formation was suitable' forGsoil vapor
extraction (SVE) ; however, due to the low.,ivolatile nature of the
contaminant (diesel fuel) . The soils at the site would not be
satisfactorily remediated by SVE. k
Since submittal of this report, Versar has conducted an
additional analysis of the data collected} throughout the duration
of the project. Based on this, more detailed analysis of the
data, it is proposed that no further action (NFA) be required at
the site, and the site Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST)
file be closed.
31
This proposal for NFA is based on thelpreiiminary evaluation
of the contaminant loading calculation ofljtheisoil and
computerized chemical transport analysis of the data using the
EPA program SESOIL.
i
At the present time, the analysis of the data has yet to be
completed; however, upon completion of the data, a copy will be
supplied to you.
If you have questions regarding this matter, please contact
either Mr. Lyle Stuck of Pacific Bell at (408) 554-7665 or myself
I at (916) 962-1612 . Your immediate attention and approval of the
NFA decision in the near future would be greatly appreciated.
jf
Yours sincerely,
I
Michael P.
