INTERNATIONAL <br /> • TECHNOLOGY i <br /> CORPORATION <br /> r� <br /> May 16, 1995 <br /> IT Project No 191259 004 <br /> an oaquin County Dept of Env Health <br /> P O Box 2009 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> Report on the Abandonment of Vapor Wells <br /> Pacific Bell Facility UE 132 <br /> 7644 Ashley Lane <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Knoll <br /> IT Corporation (IT) was retained by Pacific Bell to implement the abandonment of three <br /> four-inch diameter and one two-inch diameter vapor wells at the above referenced Pacific <br /> Bell facility located in Stockton, California The following letter report has been generated <br /> to describe well abandonment procedures and disposition of the waste materials generated <br /> during abandonment The four wells were abandoned on April 17, 1995 Please see the <br /> attached site map with former monitoring well locations <br /> Field Procedures <br /> Prior to commencement of work, a Tailgate Safety Meeting was held to ensure that the <br /> proper site safety precautions were observed This occurred in accordance with the site- <br /> specific health and safety plan <br /> IT utilized the services of Woodward Drilling, of Rio Vista, California, a licensed C-57 <br /> driller, to perform the abandonment procedure under IT supervision This was completed <br /> under the authonty of a permit for the abandonment of monitoring wells, issued by San <br /> Joaquin County on March 29, 1995 <br /> The well box and cover at each of the four wells was hammered out using heavy hand tools <br /> Each well was over-bored to its total depth, utilizing either an eight or ten-inch outer <br /> diameter hollow-stem auger attached to a B-57 drill ng Three of the vapor wells had a total <br /> depth of thirty-five feet below ground surface (bgs), the fourth, forty-five feet bgs Cuttings <br />. from the augering procedure (PVC well screen and casing, sand, grout, bentonite seal), and <br /> Regional Office <br /> 4585 Pacheco Boulevard o Martinez California 94553-2233 9 510-372-9100 <br /> IT Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of International Technology Corporation <br />
