k1% KLEINFELDER
June 8, 1988
File: 24-2091-00
Mr. Claude Brown
Jut. 2 5 1988 u
A.G. Industrial Manufacturing ENVIROMENTAL HEALTH
110 S. Beckman PERMIT/SERVICES.
Lodi, California 95240
RE: A.G. INDUSTRIAL MMMCIURTM, IDDI, alllFUENlA
TANK EXCANATION SAMPLE RESULTS
Dear Mr. Brown:
Enclosed are the analytical results for the soil sample collected at A.G.
Industrial Manufacturing located at 110 S. Berkman, Lodi, California
(Plate 1) . On May 13, 1988, an underground gasoline storage tank was
excavated and removed from the site. After consulting with Mr. Harlon
Knoll of the San Joaquin County Local Health District, one soil sample was
collected from native soil beneath the tank.
A Kleinfelder geologist collected sample SS-18354 from a depth of 8 feet
below the ground surface. The sample location is shoran on the Sample
Location Map (Plate 2) . The sample (a brown, slightly danp silty soil)
was collected by driving a clean brass tube into native soil collected in
the bucket of an excavator. The tube was sealed with aluminum foil and
tight fitting plastic caps, labeled and placed in an iced cooler. No
hydrocarbon odor or visible staining was observed.
To provide a qualitative indication of contamination, a Photovac TIP using
a photoicnization detector (PID) was used to screen the sample and the
adjacent soil in the excavation. PID readings for the sample and the
adjacent soil were non-detectable.
The sample was delivered under Chain-of-Custody to Chemwest Analytical
Laboratories, Inc. , in Sacramento and analyzed for total petroleum hydro-
carbons (TPH) extractable by GC-FID, purgable aromatic compounds (BM) by
EPA Method 8020, ethyl dibromide (EDB) and total organic lead. The
laboratory results for this sample were below the laboratory reporting
limits for all analyses. Laboratory data sheets and a chain-of-custody
form are included at the end of this report.
Kleinfelder recatumends a copy of this report be sent to the San Joaquin
County Kcal Health District for their review and approval.
