The collection of these samples was completed on September 16, 1996,
upon removal of the original piping by representatives of Aronson Engineering Incorporated. No
petroleum stained soils or odors were noted upon removal of the original piping, and no
groundwater was encountered in the piping trench.
Two verification soil samples were collected at the site. One sample (SS -1) was collected at
point where the UST piping entered the adjacent building; the second sample was collected
beneath a 90° elbow in the former pipe, located adjacent to the inplace UST. The soil sdmplcs
were collected using a soil coring device containing two inch by six inch brass sleeves. The
sample corer was driven into native soil at each desired sampling location using an attached slide
hammer. Letitia Briggs of San Joaquin County Public Health Services Department -
Environmental Health Division was present to witness the sample collection procedures. Soil
sampling locations ate provided on the attached site sketch.
After collection and labeling, the samples were immediately put on ice and cooled to
approximately 4°C. Chain of custody documentation accompanied the samples from the time of
collection to the time of delivery at Mc Campbell Analytical Laboratory (a DHS certified
laboratory), for analytical testing. Copies of the Analysis Request and Chain of Custody records
are attached to this letter for reference.
1T Crnrxrarma s a wMdY awrmd :no-xlwy r:^nr.::rr:as: T.c::ro:a; .xmxnwn
