Harlan Road
French Camp, CA 95231
` Subject: Report
Pre-Abandonment
Underground Storage Tank Assessment
10500 South Harlan Road
French Camp, California
L, Dear Mr. Hoffman:
This report presents analytical results for soil samples collected in the vicinity of a
L asphalt oil underground storage tank (UST) cluster at the above-referenced site (see
Plate 1). This report presents a summary of our field activities, observations, analytical
results and conclusions.
BACKGROUND
The following information was supplied to Kleinfelder by Mr. Brian Hoffman of Granite
Construction Company (Granite). Granite currently has five underground storage tanks
%W (USTs) that contain/ed various mixtures of asphalt oil which includes the following
designations: AR-4000, AR-8000, PG 64-10 and SC-800. These five tanks have been
labeled No. 1 through No. 5 and according to Granite are located in a tank cluster in the
east-central portion of the site located south of the "bag house" (see Plates 2 and 3).
These tanks have a reported capacity of approximate 20,000 gallons and are located
next to two formerly abandoned USTs labeled tanks No. 6 and No. 7. These five USTs
have been used as secondary containment/overflow from two 30,000 gallon above
ground tanks (ASTs). These two asphalt oil ASTs are located over UST Nos. 2 through
` No. 5. Each of the tanks is oriented in a north-south direction and have an approximate
diameter of 10 '/2 feet with approximately 3 '/z feet of cover. Therefore, the total invert
depth of the five USTs was estimated at 14 feet below ground surface (bgs).
Granite has reported that UST No. 1 contains about 2,000 gallons of oil and water
mixture and UST No. 2 contains about 5,000 gallons of oil and 10,000 gallons of water.
` UST No. 3 reportedly contains about 1,000 gallons of oil/sludge and the contents of
90163703/ST07R1061 January3, 2008
02007 Kleinfelder Page 1 of
t KLEINFELDER -8S EastMvrtle Street, Stockton, CA 95205-4794 12091948-7315 1'09`938-0621 fax
