J. R. SIMPLOT COMPANY/ 16777 SOUTH HOWLAND ROAD/ P.O. BOX 198
LATHROP,CALIFORNIA 95330/(209)858-2511
MINERALS&CHEMICAL DIVISION
,,eptember 10, 1787
San Joaquin Local Health District
1601 East Hazelton Avenue
P.O. Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Dear Sir/Madam:
Enclosed is a check for payment of 1987 calender year fees for
underground storage tanks at the J. R. Simplot Company fertilizer
and agricultural chemicals manufacturing plant in Lathrop,
California. The check amount of $200 reflects a correction made
to the 1987 billing statement.
The J. R. Simplot Company owns two 10 ,000 gallon underground
tanks for the storage of regular gasoline and diesel. The
billing statement sent from the county showed fees for three
underground tanks; one 10,000 gallon tank and two 5,000 gallon
tanks. In May 1982, the two 5,000 gallon tanks were replaced
with one 10 ,000 gallon tank. Due to an administrative error, the
new tank information was not entered in the California Water
Resources Control Board' s Hazardous Substance Storage Inventory.
To rectify this ommission, we shall follow the Abandon Tank
Policy sent to us by the San Joaquin Local Health District.
If you have any questions, please call John Pallen at (209) 858-
2511 ext. 226. Thank you.
Sincerely,
4AZ /,Y- "
Robert W. Edson
Manager - Technical Services
JJP
Attachments
cc: D. Cowley
File
