Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Gentlemen:
SUBJECT: PERMIT TO OPERATE UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS
Attached is a check and completed worksheet as required by your letter of
January 13, 1986 (SIMPLI6) , for the necessary fees to cover permits for
underground storage tanks located at our facility in Lathrop California.
At this time we understand that the only tanks covered by the new regulations
are tanks where hazardous materials are stored. The three tanks covered by
this application include two tanks used for gasoline storage and one tank used
for diesel oil storage.
Other underground containers reported by this facility to the Water Quality
Control Board are sumps or sump systems not presently used for storage of any
hazardous materials. We understand that these sumps are not included under
this regulation. I will attend your workshop on February 3, 1986 to confirm or
clarify this interpretation.
Respectfully,
Robert W. Edson
Technical Services Manager
CC.
