..
Michael Hanford
Page 3
999 Mathews Road- Michael Infuma
Piping remains in place and a removal and sampling plan is required. Also, confirmation sampling is
required for soil in the backfilled former tank area. PHS-EHD is concerned with the "charcoal black
goo" mentioned in the tank closure inspection report. PHS-EHD recommends further investigation of
this material which can be done at the time of confirmation sampling. Please contact Mike Infuma for
further information.
General Services/Stockton Metropolitan Airport
5000 South Airport, Stockton -Mary Meays
PHS/EHD staff, Mary Meays and Ron Rowe have been assigned this site. Staff stated that the results
from the tank removal would be evaluated and former tank site not requiring further work would be
issued closure letters and contaminated sites would be placed in the Local Oversight Program.
PHS/EHD staff indicated that a meeting would be scheduled to discuss the results of file review and to
obtain assistance from Airport Management to determine the additional responsible parties, besides
San Joaquin County. A meeting was scheduled with Dan DeAngelis on March 20, 1995 to discuss
former tank locations. All contaminated sites will be placed into LOP by March 24, 1995. Work Plans
to initiate the investigations should be submitted by June 9, 1995.
Agricultural Commissioner's Office
503 East 10th Street Tracy and 392 South Moffat Manteca - Mary Meays
PHS/EHD staff, Mary Meays, has been assigned these site and indicated that due to the significant
concentrations of contamination which was detected at the time of the tank removals and the depth to
groundwater, the sites would be placed into LOP. Work plans should be submitted to initiate the soil
and groundwater investigation by May 19, 1995.
The next meeting to discuss site progress was tentatively scheduled for June 12, 1995 at 1:30 PM at
the office of PHS/EHD.
If you disagree with this summary of the March 10, 1995 meeting or have any questions, please
contact me at (209)468-3452.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Diane M. Hinson, REHS
Supervisor, Site Mitigation Unit
Enclosure
cc: See Attached List
