` `■ KLEINFELDER
4 ANALYTICAL RESULTS
A total of 15 soil samples were collected from the five soil borings. Nine of the 15 soil
samples were submitted for chemical analysis. The soil samples were selected for analysis
based on their position in the boring, field observations, and organic vapor readings.
The samples were submitted under chain-of-custody to Superior Precision Analytical, Inc.
(Superior) in San Francisco, via a courier service. Superior is certified by the State of
California Toxic Substance Control to perform the requested analyses. The nine soil samples
were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) purgeable by Method 5030 GC-FID;
benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX) by EPA Method 8020, and TPH
extractable by Method 3550 GC-FID.
Petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH and BTEX) were not detected in the seven samples analyzed
from borings B-1 through B-4. TPH as gasoline and diesel, and some BTEX constituents were
detected in the two samples analyzed from boring B-5 as follows:
Depth TPH-Diesel TPH-Gasoline Benzene Toluene Ethylbenzene Xylenes
Sample Boring feet (mg/kg) (me/ke) (mg/kg) (mg/kg) (m¢/ke) (mg/kg)
63698 1, - 20.5 740 97 ND .20 ND .89
63699 4 25.5 690 35 .008 .17 ND 1.4
The laboratory data sheets and chain-of-custody form are presented in Appendix D.
UI
FR8-92-211 Page 6 of 8
Copyright 1992 Kleinfelder, Inc.
