Box 2009
Stockton , CA 95201
RE: 610 NORTH HUNTER STREET
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
Dear Ms . Cotulla :
Enclosed are the analytical reports for soil samples collected
by Groundwater Technology , Inc . ( GTI ) from the property of
Mr . Ray Farmer at the above referenced location .
The property was formerly an automobile dealership which operated
two 1000 -gallon storage tanks . Most recently , these tanks
contained regular and unleaded gasoline . A 650-gallon waste oil
tank was also in the tank pit , adjacent to the fuel tanks .
These tanks were excavated on November 6 , 1987 . Mr . William
R . Snavely was present during the excavation and specified the
location and depth for three soil samples to be collected from
the tank pit . The tank pit was somewhat rectangular (20 feet
long by 10 feet wide ) and approximately 10 feet deep . Upon
excavation , considerable odors were detected in the tank pit
soils . Soil excavated from the tank pit was stockpiled on the
asphalt surface .
Samples were collected from directly beneath the 3 tanks ( to the
limit of the backhoe ' s reach ) at a depth of approximately 15
feet . As prescribed by Mr . Snavely , the soil from below each
fuel tank was analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as
gasoline ; benzene , toluene , ethylbenzene and xylene ( BTEX ) ;
Offices throughout the U.S., Canada and Overseas
Western offices in: Tempe, AZ; Concord, CA;Sacramento, CA; San Diego, CA;
Torrance, CA; Ventura, CA;Englewood, CO;Renton, WA
