LEAK DETECTION
'' ' C f1 v 0 s 0 1 E tc
Exclusive Providers for MDleak® and PHDleak@ Technologies
I4()0 Fast Paseo Pavon • Tucson .1L 85778 ° Phon(- 855- 55-53"_'5 ^ FAX: 520.990.8965
Stles2,;7.cahlDeteci.net a o,mwJ.cakDetect.no
b. Once all the accessible components with leaks are repaired, LDT can begin testing
the underground portion of the system.
3. Testing:
a. A different chemical Tracer is introduced into the tank and piping.
b. This second chemical tracer is then pumped throughout the systems product, vent,
and vapor return piping as applicable.
c. Each component is tested at the working pressure of the individual component.
d. Once the primary component is pressurized with the chemical tracer gas the
secondary containment surrounding the primary containment can be sampled
e. If the chemical tracer is found in the secondary containment sample a leak is
declared and the leak location will be identified.
4. Spill Bucket Testing:
a. Spill Buckets are pneumatically tested. A leak rate is calculated and could indicate
a leak within the spill bucket.
b. If a leak is detected the contractor will be directed to the leak and a repair of the
spill bucket will be completed.
Reporting:
1. Reports consist of a two page written document summarizing the data collected at each
site.
2. Each component in the system is listed and certified individual.
3. Owners, contractors, inspectors and regulators are invited to contact LDT for
specifications regarding MDleak° test methods.
References:
4.
