I found a few items that need to be addressed for compliance. On
sheet PP1 the 2" LCX fiberglass chase line from the existing diesel turbine to the bio-diesel injection shed must be
continuously monitored as well, which could be accomplished by adding another vacuum zone for the chase line
secondary containment. On sheet PP3 diagram 5 for the existing diesel tank sump the bulkhead fitting for the chase line
is labeled for a double walled sump. The existing sump is single walled. On sheet PP5 the chase from the diesel tank STP
is proposed to enter the transition sump in the bio-diesel injection shed from the south end and on sheet PP1 it is
proposed to enter on the north end of the transition sump. I also just realized that the compass for North is
incorrect. North is 180 degrees from what is depicted. Please clarify how the chase line will enter the transition
sump. Also what type of continuous monitoring will be used for the vent line on the bio-diesel tank? Are you still
proposing to use hydrostatic or now using vacuum? Please let me know how you plan to achieve continuous monitoring
for the vent line. If you have any questions I will be in the office all day. I'm off tomorrow and will be back on Thursday
and Friday.
Raymond von Flue
Lead Sr. REHS,COPA Programs
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Dept.
1868 E.
