General <br /> Before any machinery or mechanized equipment is placed in use, it will be inspected <br /> and tested by a competent ned-anic and certified to be in safe operating condition. <br /> The employer will designate a competent person to be responsible for the inspection <br /> of all machinery and equipment daily and during use to make sure it is in safe <br /> operating condition. Tests will be made at the beginning of each shift during which <br /> the equipment is to be used to determine that the brakes and operating systems are in <br /> proper working condition. <br /> Preventative maintenance procedures recommended by the manufacturer will be followed. <br /> Any machinery or equipment fond to be unsafe will be deadlined and its use <br /> prohibited until unsafe conditions have been corrected. <br /> Inspections or determinations of road conditions and structures will be made in <br /> advance to assure that clearances and load capacities are safe for the passing or <br /> placing of any machinery or equipment. <br /> Machinery and mechanized equipment will be operated only by designated personnel. <br /> Equipment deficiencies observed at any time that affect their safe operation will be <br /> corrected before continuing operation. <br /> Seats or equal protection will be provided for each person required to ride on <br /> equipment. <br /> Getting off or on any equipment while it is in motion is prohibited. <br /> Machinery or equipment requiring an operator will not be permitted to run unattended. <br /> Machinery or equipment will not be operated in a manner that will endanger persons <br /> or property nor will the safe operating speeds or loads be exceeded. <br /> Y-7,38! <br />
