Workers must know the location, use and limitations of available fire extinguishers. Fire extinguishers must be provided on the basis of potential types of fires. Fire extinguishers must be inspected daily by the Site Health and Safety Coordinator to ascertain that they are where they should be and are charged. A log must be kept of these inspections. At a mini,mm,, annually, fire extinguishers must be inspected by a oonpetent agency and dated. Fire extinguishers must have clearly indicated uses and limits information. A fire notification or alarm system must be established and ccuumtmicated to all employees. The telephone number for the local fire rise agency must be prominently posted in the work place or located where every employee has immediate access. Smoki. will be prohibited in all areas where flammable, oortustible, or similar hazardous materials are stored, expert in those locations specifically provided for such purpose and approved Site Health and Safety Officer. All major motorized eouirr ent will be equipped with a fire extinguisher of a type and make approved by the National Board of Fire Underwriters. Fire lanes to provide access to all areas will be maintained free of obstruction. Material storage will be arranged to minimize the spread of fire internally and to permit access for fire fighting. Clearance will be maintained around lights and heating units to prevent ignition of oorbustible materials. All sources of ignition will be prohibited in areas where flammable liquids are stored, handled, and processed. Suitable No SMDICDdG signs will be posted in all such areas. 3 2)3,9"
